Rianne in Belgium

Last weekend was a very nice one. After the duoflight from Rien, Rianne came to spend the week-end with me! Fridayevening we didn't do much anymore, since she arrived late.
Saturday, we went to church. There was actually a potluck for Marie-Josée that would turn 80 on sunday, but unfortunatly she was sick. We still had the potluck and a very nice pie. And of course we sang for Rien his birthday and for Elina's that was to come tuesday. After some socialising we went out for a walk. Afterwards I took Rianne to the Gavers, a little place of nature near Kortrijk. In the evening we only talked and talked and talked and talked... bla bla bla...

Sundayafternoon we went to Brugge, my favorite city. I showed her around in the city and we did end up in the chocolate restaurant. We had some ice chocolate, a yummy thing with ice and whip cream, and a delicious choclate fondue with fresh fruit... yummmmmmmmy! Our trip ended in the craftshop near our home. I had showed her some of my stampstuff, and Rianne seems to like that, maybe I gave her the stampvirus... who knows! Anyways, we sure had a blessed time together.

Happy birthday to Rien!

Rien celebrated his 26th birthday last saturday, but he got a big surprise a day earlier. Huguette had organised a duo jump out of a plane for him. All friends, family and churchmembers were invited. Also Vincent received (he had his birthday a week earlier) this surprise. Afterwards everyone was invited to a reception for Rien his birthday. A day he will never forget.

visiting Julia

She was born on june 16, and we did visit her last saturday.... sweet little Julia. (to pronounce like Dutchmen do, not like Belgians do). Therefore we drove to Heverlee, to Ben and Nadine's new place. Since Julia is a baby that has a Dutch father and a Belgian mother, we were spoiled with habbits out of both countries. In the Netherlands they have a habbit to give "beschuit met muisjes" when a baby is born. That's a Dutch rusk where they put 1st butter on and then some sweet little candystuff, that tastes like aniseed. On the picture you see Huguette holding one. We also got chips, cause that's the Belgian tradition. We also have a tradition to give "doopsuiker" when the visitors leave. That's a kind of candy with chocolate inside. Visitors receive a nice little box or another cute item plenty with "doopsuiker". So we were spoiled with that as well. Nice to have parents from different countries, don't you think? Hahaha, no, but the main thing was that we could see that nice little wonder.

After our visit we went to a park in Heverlee, where there was a nice castle. We had brought our picknick. It was a quite a time ago since we had gonne somewhere with our little group, so we enjoyed it to the fullest, and I did brought my camera, so we needed to goof off a bit as well, like in the good old days.

flee market for ADRA

Last week-end, I did spend my time again at Rianne's place. Friday-evening I attended a biblestudy. On sabbath I went to church and in the afternoon, Wim Wiersema gave us a study more about adventism versus moslim relationships. After the study Rianne took me to the house where she grew up and spend her youth. Her brother Leo lives there, and we went all together for a walk, and did chat quite a bit afterwards, it was a very nice time.

Sunday, we drove direction Ossendrecht. I helped with the flee-market for ADRA. Almost all my books I brought to sell, got sold. So I was happy that I could help a little bit from my part with this nice project. All the money will go to a hospital that will be build in Ghana.

You are my hiding place.

You are my hiding place,
You always fill my heart
with songs of deliverance.
Whenever I am afraid,
I will trust in You.
I will trust in You.
Let the weak say I am strong
in the strength of my Lord.
I got some cd's from Rianne from the group Selah to listen too, I particulary like this one special well known song.

hup holland hup!

Last weekend I was in the Netherlands. I visited Rianne for the weekend. I got to know her at the youth for all weekend. Since then we mailed and chatted with one another, and when she invited me over last week, I didn't have to think twice.
After my work, I drove a big 2 hours before I arrived at her place. After souper, we went out for a walk. It was pretty interesting for me to see how patriotic they are in the Netherlands. Everywhere you could see orange. They had the football game(americans read: soccer) against France and you really could notice that everywhere. We are not used to that here in Belgium.
Saturday I went to her church in Gorinchem. In the afternoon we drove to Breda for a biblestudy. There I met some other people I know. After the study we were invited for a potluck at somebody's house. Leo, Rianne's brother took us there. It was a nice and blessed day. Sunday we visited a little zoo: "dierenpark de Oliemeulen". Some people and kids of her church joined. I really had a super week-end! Thank you Rianne!

And for the ones that would doubt, yeps it's a real spider in my hands!
God bless

All kinds of everything

Yup, it has been a while since I have updated this one here... busy busy busy, and not taken a priority is the reason why. After Davind Gates I went a day to youth for all. It was nice to hear different speakers and I was very blessed. I also met some interesting persons.

What else happened meanwhile... I have been to a concert of Céline Dion on the 14th in the "sportpaleis" of Antwerp.

I went again to the Netherlands to hear an interesting speaker the sabbath after youth for all, and the nice thing was that I went with some guys of Antwerp. I saw Peter and Roxanne back and also Jacky V. and I got to meet her husband.

We were invited for a barbecue at Riens and Huguettes for the last time since they will move soon, and we had a family dinner as a surprise for my grandmother.

And yeps, I have started some scrapping again, since last monday I made 4 pages, this seemed like ages ago.

Uncle David visiting...

Actually I had planned to go to the youth for all conference in Sint -Michielsgestel (Netherlands) but as I found out that David Gates was comming to Delft last sabbath, I changed my plans. I hadn't heard of him yet quite long ago. Acutally I saw a part of his sermon just the past week, before I didn't even know of his existence. But what I saw was enought to impress me. What he all preached to us was so impressive and so wonderful, I really was glad I didn't miss this opportunity. We also got his book in Dutch for free and a dvd.

(heb mijn boek natuurlijk laten signeren).

And the winner is.....

Since I did go to the Netherlands yesterday and was very late home (this was not planned ahead), I couldn't announce the winner yesterday. So with some hours delay (we're only monday morning now) I do announce the winner....

tada...... THE WINNER IS....Willie... VINTAGE WILL. Please send your contact information, and I will send you something my mail like I promised (Plufke_v@yahoo.com).

That's the work she made... wonderful, not?

Willie ... VINTAGE WILL. Stuur je je contactgegevens door (Plufke_v@yahoo.com) zodat ik je wat kan toesturen?

Hieronder zie je wat Willie gemaakt heeft, mooi he?
