visiting Julia

She was born on june 16, and we did visit her last saturday.... sweet little Julia. (to pronounce like Dutchmen do, not like Belgians do). Therefore we drove to Heverlee, to Ben and Nadine's new place. Since Julia is a baby that has a Dutch father and a Belgian mother, we were spoiled with habbits out of both countries. In the Netherlands they have a habbit to give "beschuit met muisjes" when a baby is born. That's a Dutch rusk where they put 1st butter on and then some sweet little candystuff, that tastes like aniseed. On the picture you see Huguette holding one. We also got chips, cause that's the Belgian tradition. We also have a tradition to give "doopsuiker" when the visitors leave. That's a kind of candy with chocolate inside. Visitors receive a nice little box or another cute item plenty with "doopsuiker". So we were spoiled with that as well. Nice to have parents from different countries, don't you think? Hahaha, no, but the main thing was that we could see that nice little wonder.

After our visit we went to a park in Heverlee, where there was a nice castle. We had brought our picknick. It was a quite a time ago since we had gonne somewhere with our little group, so we enjoyed it to the fullest, and I did brought my camera, so we needed to goof off a bit as well, like in the good old days.
