Gothic Arches - heritage

The challenge is about heritage on the site of gothic arches. For me, that's just a wonderful theme. I decided to make an arch of the city Wervik. My grandparents on mothers side lived there (my grandmother still does, unfortunatly my grandfather passed away). On the top of the arch you see the farm where they lived. Wervik is known for tobacco. So that's why I put some tobacco and a pipe as well on the arch. I also put the mainchurch on the arch as well.


Leuk thema dat ze deze week hebben bij gothic arches. Erfgoed,... iets wat ik een dankbaar onderwerp vind. Ik koos ervoor om een boog te maken over de stad Wervik. Als kleine spruit ging ik heel regelmatig naar mijn grootouders. Bovenaan zie je de boerderij die ze hadden. Wervik is gekend voor tabak en mijn grootvader was dan ook tabaksboer, dit heb ik uitgebeeld met de drogende tabak en de pijp. Onderaan mijn boog zie je de belangrijkste kerk van Wervik.
