having some craftfun...

My new hobbyroom is done... still need to buy still some little things to make it look perfect, but meanwhile I'm enjoying it already to the fullest. I had fun making this one today.

On March 14 I got an email in my inbox from Louella, a girl from the Netherlands. She looked for people that were interested in a mission project called: Wezesha Watoto, with means empower children in the Kiswahili language.

I didn’t know Louella, she got my e-address from a girl that thought I might be interested in this project. I really liked the project. It’s about helping children that live on the street, so that they also can get to know Jesus. Jesus came for everyone, also for this poor children.

So it came that we met (with 4 others that were interested as well) on March 28th. I really liked the project, but I didn’t feel like going into the board, which was actually the appeal to do so. I thought, since I don’t feel like going into the board, I won’t do it, unless God shows me this is His will for me. So I asked Him for a sign.
I wanted it to be a clear sign. So I asked Him that Rachel, (a girl from Switserland) who I met at a Youth Congress in Lissabon (1999) would contact me. Why her? Well I know when I met her she would go to Tanzania, so, that was my link with Tanzania, since I knew she had been there.
You must know however that we were just pen palls in 1999, and we wrote for about one year, maybe 2, not more, and then we lost contact.
So I had been like 10 years out of contact with her. I felt like, God I’m maybe asking something impossible, but You showed big miracles all through the bible. I had to think on the story of Gideon, and so on.
But I felt like… I’m maybe not fair towards God…. I’m asking something impossible. So I tried to find Rachel back myself. I didn’t have her Swiss contact information, and I knew she was not in Tanzania anymore. So I googled her name, searched for her on facebook, but with no result.
Louella wanted to know my answer by Wednesday and since I couldn’t find Rachel, and she didn’t contact me (which was the sign I actually wanted) I said to Louella, I’m sorry but I won’t go into the board. I want to help with your project whenever I can, but being in the board is not my thing.

Thursday was the day that the Youth In Mission Congress started in Germany. Rianne and I wanted to go, but there was no more place. But God knew we had to be there…. So on the last moment things worked out so that we still could be there.

At the congress we could do several workshops. So Rianne and I did go to different ones. Since she said she still wanted to have a talk with the speaker after the meeting, I told her, that this was ok, and that I would come and pick her up, so that we could eat supper together.

So, after my workshop I went to the place where she had her workshop. She was standing there, talking with a girl, and I just joined. Then while she was talking with this girl… This girl looked at my name tag and says: “Hey, I know you”… it appeared to be Rachel. I was totally in shock! I couldn’t believe this. Rachel just contacted me, I’ve not seen her for such a long time and yeps, it just happened. What an awesome God we serve, things that seem impossible for man, are not impossible for HIM!

Never underestimate the power of prayer! God still provide miracles everyday.

So, I’m joining Wezesha Watoto! Since I know God really wants me too!
