my picture in a scrapbookmagazine
A while ago I was in the mall just hanging around. As I love scrapbooking, I was looking through a magazine and to my big surprise I found a picture of myself. I didn't plan to buy magazines, but of course I couldn't resist in taking this one home.

scrap against cancer
Today I went to the event "scrappen tegen kanker". I had to get up as early as a normal workday. I went by train to Antwerp and there Tania picked me up. Then we went by car to Ekeren. It was nice to meet people from the yahoogroup: de scrappertjes and stampingdreams. Some of them you "know" for quite a long time but you never saw them yet in real.
You could follow several workshops, and we were spoiled with a goodiebag that was plenty with neat things.
Another nice thing about this whole event was that the money goes to research for cancer.
I sure did enjoy my day. And I can post already one thing I made....

God bless

I have been tagged!
Krisje tagged me, so I will play the game. The only thing I am going to give up on, is passing on the tag to 7 people because I don't know that many people that would like to play this game and the ones I do know have already been tagged before. But if you read this and you have not been tagged before... your tagged!
Ok... here it goes... the rules:
1. Link to the person that tagged you and post the rules on your blog.
2. Share 7 random and/or weird facts about yourself (on your blog, we all want to know them).
3. Tag 7 random people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs.
4. Let each person know that they've been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.
And now the hard part.... 7 things about myself.....
1. I'm absolutely not good in mathematics, but I do memorise numbers pretty well. I remember easily birthdays of collegues, their kids, etc... I still remember most of the birthdays from the ones that were in my classroom at the age of 7. If my collegues need to know a phonenumber from another department at my job, they ask me instead of looking for the number.
2. I would have loved to play the guitar, but I had to quit the lessons due to the fact I can't move my left arm like other people do in order to play the guitar. I never figuered this out untill the age of 24. No one would notice, cause I can do all things like other people except for playing the guitar.
3. I am a Christian and I'm born into the SDA-church. I got baptised in 1999. I have been pretty active in my church. I have given sabbathschoollessons to the kids for several years, and also have been active in pathfinders. Now I'm taking a sabbathsyear, and I'm less busy.
4. I love traveling and have seen several countries so far. I was in: USA, Canada, Tenerife, La Gomera, Switserland, Spain, Portugal, Luxemburg, the Netherlands, France, Austria, Kroatia, Czeh Republic, Slovenia, Slovakia, Montenegro, Serbia, Italy, Switserland, Germany, Poland, Andorra and the UK... guess that's my list. Some countries I visited more then once. I especially love the nature parks in the USA. I have been in the States already 7 times.
5. I'm still working at my 1st job, and I will be working there for almost 10 years now.
6. I'm not that crazy about animals. I never have been raised with pets, and I don't know too well how to handle pets.
7. I always have been creative since I was a kid. I loved crafts. When I was a kid I was active in pathfinders, did music-education, played the piano, went to the drawingschool, did wordexpression.... I'm thankfull that I could follow al these things.
Mission fullfilled,... I looked already for some victims to tag, but ... they all seemed to be tagged already....
God bless

RAK (Random act of kindness) - Pay it forward
Wednesday I got a RAK from Vicky in the mail. I had left a comment on her blog and 3 people that did so received a little gift. The only thing you needed to do is promise you would do the same.
So here it goes:
I will send a gift (something handmade or something bought) to 3 random people who leave a comment on my blog!! The only thing you have to do in return is "pay it forward" by making the same promise on your blog.
Looking forward to some comments ;)

That is what I got from Vicky
God bless

sick...
This week I became sick due to a viral infecion on my bronchial tubes. The doctor gave me two days off, but I defenatly could use some more. Today it was pretty hard for me to work.
God bless
But while I was sick I got a nice surprise in the mail. I got 4 ATC's from Japan, 2 were even from known cities: Tokyo and Hiroshima. I also got a neat one from the USA.

Stampinback-day
Today Stampinback organised a wonderful event in Tilburg (the Netherlands). For 2,50€ you received a bag with a stamp and several sheets to craft on. Also 7 workshops were included in that price. I learned a lot and had the time of my life! I also met some people from the yahoogroups I am a member of. Els and her husband already had picked me up ( I never had seen her before) but I also could see Anja and Cindy, and a few others for the 1st time. It was great to meet everyone. For once I didn't mind to get up early, it sure was worth it!

Flat tire
Yesterday... what a day! I was supposed to go in the evening to the exposition "anders gewoon" as I told earlier. But a flat tire made me miss this event. When I went to my job and had to take a turn at a certain point I already felt something was not ok, but I did forget about it and parked my car in the underground parking at my job. I did some shopping after my work, but when I had to leave again, I noticed something was really wrong, and I thought it would be a flat tire. I wanted to be out of this underground parking first though. So, I had to take a left, but since Kortrijk is a city plenty with roadworks for the moment, I couldn't take my left due to a car that came my way. I thought, well, I can make a loop, since the road where to take the loop was fixed again. When I was on that road, I realised I was in a one direction street... oh no... my thoughts were... just take another road quickly, this one appeared to be a one way street as well... since cars came my way, I had to drive in reverse, man... that didn't feel good (and all this happened with a flat tire). Anyways, I did make it safe to the parkingplace where I wanted to park. Next thing was to call for help. When I called the insurance they said I was not insured for these kind of things (although I'm pretty sure I am, dad will figure this one out). So, there was only one more cheap option: help from daddy. He came and fixed the tire. It appeared that I even didn't have a jack in my car, but dad helped me out with his one. (today we found the well hidden jack in the car anyways... ). But all this made that I couldn't go to the exposition as planned.

this made me laugh.
Unfortunatly this is one I can't translate. So, if you don't understand Dutch, this post won't mean much to you, but if you do... continue reading.... I bought a little vacuumcleaner for my keyboard today. The thing didn't cost much, but it wasn't worth much either, I used it once and it's already broken... oh well.... I had fun with the translation... guess you will too;)

"Anders gewoon"
In the psychiatric institution next to our nursinghome, they did a project: "anders gewoon" where people from outside the instituon could participate. You had to express the psychical sick human. As many people from all ages, different backgrounds could participate. I did participate, since I love crafts and this is the result. Wednesday, I will go and take a look to all the other works that will be shown.
My work is called: reaching hands
