Scrapbooking, for a change ;)

Guys, I found the picture back that I used for my lay-out where you can vote on in the local scrapbookstore (Tiny's) this week-end. Well, this picture became very nice due to my aunt, who used her psp-skills!












Today I started a new project. I will make ABC-cards with my left-overs. Today I made already one. At the end I will keep them together with a ring.

About scrapbooking...

Today, I finished a layout about a frog. It was taken when I was in St.-Louis (the zoo) some time ago. I really liked the picture. Today I was surfing around, and yes Isolde (Sollie) I got inspired by one of your lay-out's, it worked out totally different, although I'm pretty satisfied with the result of this lay-out.

Oh yes, next week there's the scrapbookweekend at Tiny's. I have entered 3 projects, two of them I posted already here, the other one I can't until after the contest, since I forgot to take a picture of it. But for people that are interested:

The lay-out has the title: mijn meme (my grandmother in Flemish). It's an old picture with the family of my grandmother when she was young.

So, feel free, but I would appreciate it if you could vote on me:)

My week-end...

No, I don't have a long week-end like most of the other people in Belgium. Tomorrow I'll be the only occupatinal therapist that will be working. But no complaints, I had a good week-end. Yesterday after church we went walking, this time we went to Oudenaarde. We did a big walk. In the evening Rien and Huguette invited us to eat gourmet. It was a nice evening, we had a lot of fun.

Today I worked on a project that I wanted to finish. I want to participate with a contest, and therefore I need to make 3 projects. A card, a 12"x12" scrapbookpage and a threedimensional project. The card and the 3d project are done. Today I scrapped a box where I can put pictures in for the 3d-contest. It took me quite some time. Now I only have too think about the page... or I can just participate with one that I already have made... time will tell....

One more thing... I found out that several people take a look here now and then... feel free to leave a comment;)

Heritage day

Sunday was heritage day in Belgium. We wanted to do something with Elina and Jonas, and since Jonas is crazy about windmills, we decided to go and to look at some. Concerning Jonas, when a windmill is not working, it's due to dead batteries. They sure did enjoy it. Of course what they enjoyed the most was a baloon filled with helium, that really made their day.

We hadn't plan to take the kids all day with us, so when we went to my sisters, we were surprised with a nice and good meal. In the afternoon we went to Poperinge. I had heard a lot already over the Talbot house, and I wanted to see it once.

Since we were in Poperinge, and the national hop museum is located there, mum wanted to see that as well. I had seen it already with my elderies, but it was totally renewed and it was nice to see it again.

Those were the most important things we visited. It was a nice day, not only for what we saw, the weather was very pretty as well.

Saturday evening we celebrated Lene her 15th birthday. We went ice-skating and had lots of fun. I made her a picturecollage.

"Die Vèrle ist zurück...."

I'm back from a trip to Switserland. I was there from April 1 til April 9. It was due to Angelika, a chatfriend of mine that I got to know that there was a campmeeting in St. Stephan (Switserland). So, it was pure adventure, being the only Belgian within a group of Swiss, German and people of Austria. I noticed that my German wasn't anymore what it once had been, but nevertheless I could understand most of what was said, although talking didn't go that easy...

My flight to Zürich went fluently. After some hours waiting Angelika and Daniela picked me up. I only had known the day before I left that Daniela would be there, and she's another girl I had met on the internet. It was quite a nice surprise.

Geli (Angelika), Daniela, Anke and me shared room 15 at "the Jugendhaus" in St. Stephan http://www.stanet.ch/Haus/St.Stephan/index.htm. We were with around 30 people in total that arrived on April 1. After souper we sung some songs and then it was time to sleep after a day of traveling.

After breakfast on monday we did some biblestudy, we studied the letters of John for the whole week. It was nice, we were devided in small groups, and that made that we easily could participate. Monday-afternoon was soon there, and we did a nice walk. We got to see a very pretty waterfall, and for the ones that know me... you'll know I just love waterfalls....

Tuesday, we had several options to choose from. On the one hand I wanted to try skiing, but it was pretty expensive and besides I was one of the only ones that never had been skiing before, while all the others had... So, I decided to do something else. What about visiting the Nestlé chocolate factory in Broc? What concerns chocolate, I prefer the Belgian kind, and I'm convinced we do have the best chocolate in the world, but I must admit that the Swiss people don't have bad chocolate either. It was nice to have a tour. What was even nicer was the fact that they let us taste some of that good stuff at the end of the tour... yummy....

And after that we went to the Nestlé shop... most of what tey sold was chocolate indeed...

After all the chocolate we drove to Gruyère. A very "pittoresque" village... Cheese town. The heart of the town was very nice, and it didn't surprise me at all when I heard that they used this background to make the movie of Willem Tell. I also did visit the castle of Gruyère... boy, what was I glad that I didn't go skiing... I would have missed this, and that sure would have been a pitty.

Wednesday, we did a "snowwalk". It was really very pretty. The beauty of nature is so amazing in Switserland. Luckily I had ski trousers on, sometimes, I dived like half a meter in the snow. I saw several waterstreams, and this trip was supernice.

Thursday we visited the city of Thun. Some went shopping, but I didn't I prefered to see the old part of the town, where there was another castle to visit. We didn't have too much time, so for one time we played the role of Japanese people, meaning: taking quickly pictures of everything, but not really take time to really visit.

After we had seen the castle from outside and some other views, we went back to the cars where we drove to another part of the city. There I enjoyed a hot chocolatemilk (in Switserland you get a hot cup of milk, and you need to put in the chocolatepoudre yourself).

On friday we celebrated the birthday of Daniela. She got some presents and some nice cookies to eat, we could taste of the cookies as well!

After breakfast I decided to go with some other people to Vevey. We did a walk around the lake of Geneva. At a certain place you notice a big fork on the lake. We did a nice walk, and on our way home we stopped to shoot some nice panoramic pictures.

Fridayevening was very special. We did open the sabbath with scripture, testimonies, and we ended the evening together with a praying partner.

On Saturday we had sabbathschoolclass and a sermon. In the afternoon most went for a walk. Daniela, Anja and me went for our own little walk. We had to shelter for a bit of rain, but that didn't ruin the pleasure.

Sunday, Easter was there. We had breakfast on a nice decorated table. What concerns activities, we had again options to choose from. I went to the Ballenberg museum. An outdoor museum, where they showed how life was in Switserland in the earlier days, it sure was pretty interesting.

Monday came earlier then expected. Around 6pm I had to catch my flight in Zürich. Daniela drove me to the airport, but we decided to walk around in Zurich for a while before I took off... My vacation was almost over...

little update

I have not been posting a lot lately. Different things kept me busy. This month I already visited two hobbyfairs. I only would have visited one, the one in Antwerp, but Rien and Huguette would go to Brussels to visit another fair. At the same location there was a hobbyfair as well... so I could go with them to Brussels, and I didn't have to think twice over this. I got me some new stamps this month, 9 in total. I will be able to make nice birthdaycards and so on... I just love it.

I also decided to go to a campmeeting in Switserland. Angelika, a girl I met online, told me about it, and I will join, it's pretty much a big adventure, since I'm going to a place I don't know and I will be among people I don't really know. I know Angelika from writing to her, but it's not that I know her pretty well either, besides, the main language there in Switserland will be German. Big adventure for sure.

Emmanuel and Carla had their baby last friday. The little one is called: Jayden Utah Lefebvre. He had a funny way to annouce the baby's birth. Something like: flood at my place, water gonne at 10.20pm. Consequenses are enormous.... typical him, always in the mood for something funny. Well, two new babies at our church, we're growing.

Eliana is doing pretty well, she's gaining weight, but although she's a month older then Jayden, she's not as tall and not as big. I could hold her already several times in my hands, she's such a sweety.

What else is there to say... well, most of you know that I like to work with kids, and that I like to do crafts. I did set up a swap for ATC's with kids. The idea is that kids make a nice ATC and trade it with other kids. Some kids of my church received already an ATC from France. The next exchange will be with kids of the USA if everything works out.
